Designated as Important Folklore Material No. 250 by the government in 2007
This place was designated as Gyeongsangbuk-do Folklore Material No. 63 on December 30th, 1985. Later it was designated as Important Folklore Material No. 250 by the government on October 12th, 2007.
This was built by Songso Sim Hotaek, who is the 7th descendent of Sim Cheodae, who was a millionaire in the time of King Yeongjo of Joseon dynasty, in 1880(King Gojong 17th year). It is also called Songso Historic House.
This house is facing southern east, and consists of Daemunchae, Anchae, Byeoldang, Big Sarangchae, Small Sarangchae, and a Sadang(shrine). Each individual building has its own yard.
Anchae is a building with a gambrel roof, 6 rooms on the front, and 3 rooms on the side. It consists of Anchae, Sarangbang, Sangbang, Daecheong, 2 Anbang rooms and kitchen. Upper part of the Ondol room, there is an attic, which can be used as a storage. In Anchae’s main floored hall, sliding windows with combed pattern were made above crude windows with a small frame.
Plinths are built on the natural rock stylobate, and rectangular columns are built on them. It is 3-pillar-structured building.
Anchae, Big Sarangchae, and Small Sarangchae have overall squared structure.
Big Sarangchae has a gambrel roof, 5 rooms at front and 2 rooms on the side, the rooms are Daecheong, Chaekbang, and Sarangbang. Small Sarangchae has a gambrel roof, 5 rooms at front and 1 room at side, the rooms are Daemunkan, Dojang, 2 rooms of Sarangbang, and Daecheong.
Byeoldang has a gambrel roof, 4 rooms at front and 2 rooms on the side, and it consists of a wooden-floor, Ondol room, and Daecheong.
Plinths are built on the natural rock stylobate, and rectangular columns are built on them. It has 3-pillar-structured building and there is a loft in the front of the right side of Ondol room.
The gate is a tall-gate type with bars on it.
